ABOUT ANDY MAYES

I’m a full time software developer by day, and a wildlife/sports photographer by night/weekends.

My photography hobby started out with me taking wildlife photos with a point and shoot camera on family holidays. It was only after an unfortunate mokoro accident in the Okavango Delta in 2012, which claimed the life of my camera, that I decided to upgrade to a Canon DSLR setup and took my photography a bit more seriously. And also joined the Edenvale Photographic Club.

I still focused more on wildlife photography, and only started branching out into sports photography early in 2025.

I enjoy capturing action shots and freezing a specific moment in time.
